There are alternatives to "fighting out" your divorce in court. A wise judge once told Chris, "We judges give out decisions, not solutions."

Mediation, sometimes called Alternative Dispute Resolution, allows you and your spouse/ex-spouse to work together to craft an agreement that is more detailed and user-friendly than one decided by a judge. You can come up with a solution, not just a decision.

Clearly, a solution relating to parenting time and custody issues, worked out by the parties, is superior to a bloody custody battle with the child as the battlefield. Mediation can save you money, time, and emotional pain, and can create a win-win situation for you, your spouse, and most importantly, your child.

Mediation is not only for parents going through a "friendly" divorce. It can be all the more important for a husband and wife who don't seem to have a chance to get along. There IS hope of a reasonable settlement. And the benefits are worth it. Chris Patterson will be happy to serve as your mediator.

The choice of a lawyer is an important decision and should not be based solely on advertisements.
